Veil Moments Terms of Use

Overview

By downloading or using Veil Moments, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written to be straightforward, not to obscure anything.

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Veil Moments mobile application (the "App"), available on iOS and Android. The App is operated by Veil Moments ("we", "us", or "our").

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

Use of the app

You may use the App for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

— copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content without our written permission;
— reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code;
— use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations;
— interfere with or disrupt the App or servers connected to it.

Subscriptions & in-app purchases

Veil Moments offers an optional auto-renewing subscription, Veil Moments Pro, which unlocks additional features.

iOS — Apple App Store Android — Google Play Store

Subscription details: Veil Moments Pro is billed monthly at the price displayed at the time of purchase in your local currency. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Cancellation: You may cancel at any time through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Access to Pro features continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not issue refunds for partial billing periods.

Price changes: We may change the subscription price with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

All billing is handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms. We do not process or store your payment information.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled directly by Apple or Google, not by us. To request a refund:

Apple: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Google: Open Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history → find the charge → Report a problem.

Intellectual property

All content within the App — including motivational quotes, design, graphics, and code — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute any content from the App without our prior written consent.

Quote content is curated and may include works that are in the public domain or used under licence.

Third-party services

The App uses the following third-party services:

Google AdMob — provides advertising in the free version of the App. AdMob is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Apple App Store / Google Play — handle all subscription billing and purchase verification.

Our quote API — serves quote content from our own backend. No personally identifiable information is sent to this service.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party services.

Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In short: we do not collect personal information, and almost all data stays on your device.

Disclaimers

The App and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

The motivational content in this App is for general wellbeing purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or other advice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or NZD $10, whichever is greater.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand, except where local consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, without notice, if you violate these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
